The forum was an official panel of the Marché du Film at the 79th Festival de Cannes, co-organized by Sequence Film Lab. Bringing together filmmakers, technologists, educators, and industry professionals, it examined how artificial intelligence is reshaping authorship, creativity, and cinematic practice while encouraging open dialogue on the future of moving-image storytelling. The discussion addressed creative ethics in an era of synthetic media, the changing role of the filmmaker, and how authorship might be redefined as AI becomes an increasingly active participant in image-making. Dave Clark of Promise AI, filmmaker Story Chen, and representatives of Sequence Film Lab contributed to a wide-ranging conversation on preserving human creativity while embracing new technological possibilities.
